The Coming Cosmic Revelation
One of the core points of the Trans-Himalayan teaching is that should humanity be able to navigate the current global crisis as a global initiation, what awaits us on the other side, potentially unfolding over the next centuries, is a revelation that will involve our collective cosmic awakening to who we truly are, the expansion of our consciousness into the cosmos, and us starting to play a role in the galaxy.
Here's how the Tibetan master, Djwhal Khul, described the the cosmic purpose it is the destiny of humanity to eventually serve in his work with Alice Bailey:
1. The first aim and the primary aim is to establish, through the medium of humanity, an outpost of the Consciousness of God in the solar system. This is a correspondence, macrocosmically understood, of the relationship existing between a Master and His group of disciples. This, if pondered on, may serve as a clue to the significance of our planetary work.
2. To found upon earth (as has already been indicated) a powerhouse of such potency and a focal point of such energy that humanity—as a whole—can be a factor in the solar system, bringing about changes and events of a unique nature in the planetary life and lives (and therefore in the system itself) and inducing an interstellar activity.
3. To develop a station of light, through the medium of the fourth kingdom in nature [humanity], which will serve not only the planet, and not only our particular solar system, but the seven systems of which ours is one. This question of light, bound up as it is with the colours of the seven rays, is as yet an embryo science, and it would be useless for us to enlarge upon it here.
4. To set up a magnetic centre in the universe, in which the human kingdom and the kingdom of souls [Hierarchy —the planetary meta-sangha] will, united or at-oned, be the point of most intense power, and which will serve the developed Lives within the radius of the radiance of the One About Whom Naught May Be Said [the galactic Logos incarnating through our entire Milky Way galaxy].
These are profound points, and Djwhal Khul went on to go deeper into our collective purpose in the book, Occult Cosmology, which he wrote with Bruce Lyon.

Humanity as an Avatar of Cosmic Life
We – humanity – are an emanation of the cosmic Life of the Earth, which is itself a transmission of cosmic Life from the Galactic Centre.
At present, and in the lead in to the Aquarian Age, groups are starting to awaken as this Life, and as they do, they realise humanity is an embodied transmission of cosmic purpose.
The process of groups awakening to this realisation will continue to spread and grow over the first centuries of the Aquarian Age to the point where it forms the basis of a global cosmocentric culture and spreads through humanity as a whole.
Indeed, according to the Trans-Himalayan teachings, the destiny of humanity in the Aquarian Age is to awaken as a cosmic avatar – a single self-aware being that is an emanation of cosmic Life from the galactic centre, self-realised here on Earth, and active in the galaxy.
Are We Alone in the Universe?
Another core piece of the teachings relates to the perennial question of whether we are alone in the universe. The answer here is yes and no.
On one level, it is described that humanity is an expression of the cosmic Life that has descended deeper into matter than is regular in the galaxy. The teaching describes that the main reason for our collective struggle and the presence of evil in the world is because we are incarnated in matter at a level of density that does not yet vibrate in harmony with what we are at the levels of soul and spirit.
This points to the core of our collective journey on earth, which has always been at the heart of the spiritual path - to move from unconsciousness to awakening, from suffering to liberation, and from death to life. The promise of the Aquarian Age is for groups to move through that process together, to awaken to our collective origin as a transmission of cosmic Life, and for that to ripple through our humanity as a whole.
Indeed, it is described that humanity’s ability to radiate out into the galaxy the experience of having been deeply immersed in matter and having re-awakened to its true nature, once enough souls have been through that process, can actually call other civilisations presently operating only on subtle planes into the physical.
According to the teachings, the subtle planes are well populated with other civilisations, beings and evolutions existing within the energetic auras of other planets in our solar system as well as beyond, but life at our level of material density is understood to be more rare.
As such, the presence of Life on Earth is described in the spirit of a cosmic adventure and experiment, which is purposed to eventually take the realisation of divinity in the form of a cosmic civilisation, on an initiated and thus sacred planet, deeper into matter than previously achieved in the galaxy.
This is why our Logos – the cosmic Spirit of the Earth that is the root-Life of humanity and all kingdoms of nature on the planet – is called both the Great Sacrifice and the Divine Rebel in the teachings.
From Initiation to Identification
One thing that shifts along the path is where we experience our sense of identity.
For the majority of human beings, their identity is focussed in their personality. Later, as the path unfolds, our identity shifts into the soul, so that we experience ourselves more and more as a journeying soul evolving into greater light, love and power. What comes later is the shift of our identity from soul into spirit, and this where the teachings also describe a shift from initiation to identification.
Initiation is a law of the soul realm. What I mean by this is that souls evolve into ever greater light, love and power both gradually over long periods of time, and at times in sudden shifts, where what have previously been peak experiences become stabilised as the foundation for further growth.
These shifts are described as soul initiations, which involve intense expansions of consciousness and stabilisations of higher frequencies of energy in their system.
Once the being starts to bring the energy of spirit online, there continue to be certain major expansions that the being moves through, but now rather than being expansions of consciousness, they become expansions of identity.
Opening to spirit involves a radical identification as the One, but the scale of that One keeps getting larger, from identification as the One Life of one’s own core being, to the One Life of the planet, to the One Life of the solar system, the galaxy, and so on.
This series of identifications involves our identity tracing its source back along its line of original emanation. This is described as the cosmic sutratma, or spirit-current, which flows from the:

When working with the Life principle, we initially experience identification as the indestructible spirit of our own being, which transmits the nondual perfection of the Absolute as well as being plugged into the One Life of the earth. As development continues, identification shifts ever deeper along the cosmic sutratma to the One Life of the solar system, and then the galaxy.
This relates to the Prana of Synthesis meditation given by DK in Occult Cosmology. Once Life is online, we start to get the cosmic dimension of what it actually is.
The Cosmic Revelation at the Heart of the Coming Mystery Schools
Realisation of ourselves as the cosmic Life force of the Earth will be the focus of the coming Mystery Schools.
The focus of the Mystery Schools in ancient times was on awakening to the soul and was anchored on Earth from Sirius (home of the cosmic Hierarchy in the local region of our galaxy) via Venus. This is the phenomenon described in the teachings as the coming of the Lords of the Flame during the 3rd root race of Lemuria and the founding of the Hierarchy on Earth.
What arrived in this transmission focussed on consciousness and the soul primarily, and took form in the paths of initiation in the different ancient mystery schools.
The focus of the coming Mystery Schools will link us up more deeply with the original source of this transmission, and have us self-realise as an emanation of cosmic Life from the galactic centre.
The promise of the Aquarian Age is for humanity as a whole to self-realise as an avatar of this Life, and this process of our collective cosmic awakening will be pioneered in the onset of the Aquarian Age by groups who will awaken as this Life.
As this awakening as the cosmic Life of the Earth unfolds, what will come with it will be an expanding awareness that we are that Life within a cosmic environment of various evolutions and civilisations, some more and some less developed than us.
According to the Trans-Himalayan teachings, the ultimate purpose of Earth will be realised when enough human souls are able to awaken and remember who they are, and the pure charge of our ignited hearts will radiate out into the galactic environment and call the other civilisations presently incarnating on subtle levels into the physical.
As such, the cosmic purpose of the Earth is that we are the transmission of cosmic Life meant to penetrate into matter more dense than normally incarnated into in the galaxy, reveal its divinity, and transmit our victory out into the galaxy to call other civilisations into physical form.
Then, the communities of divine spirit, consciousness and form that exist on subtle levels will be able to ground into the physical levels of the cosmos, including and extending way beyond earth and its humanity.
