Purpose: The Eros of the Soul

Purpose is a charged topic.

It’s controversial.

Some people see purpose like a mission statement that some have, and some don’t, at least yet.

Some people see purpose more just the natural radiation of being that happens when you’re living from alignment.

The reason purpose is a controversial subject is because it’s confrontational.

The moment to start to inquire into it, the question that immediately arises within us is,

“Am I doing what I’m meant to be doing? And if not, what then?”

I’m unequivocal about purpose.

I’m clear that there is a seed vibration in the core of every soul that represents its most turned on romance with reality, and that also carries the blueprint for that soul’s most aligned incarnation.

That doesn’t mean for me that everyone’s purpose is the same though.

It doesn’t mean that everyone is meant to start some kind of business or transformational project.

My sense is that many people’s purpose in this life might be something like learning to unfold just that next tender petal of their own soul's expression.

To learn to love more when it’s hard.

Or to stay when they’re scared.

Or to forgive more fully when they’re hurt.

And I’m clear that as the path goes on each soul’s capacity to love expands, which allows them to increasingly include wider spheres of care than their own process, and to accept more and more responsibility for the whole.

As that happens, purpose starts to expand into a soul taking responsibility for making some contribution to their community, or their nation, humanity, and the Earth.

Maybe a contribution to how we do education.

Or business.

Or family.

Or healing.

Or love.

In all of it though, it’s crucial to get that purpose isn’t firstly a mission statement or just the natural flow of being.

Purpose is a vibration, deep in the core of the soul.

It is life force.

It is the er0s of your soul.

It is that sweet spot where what turns your soul on most and your deepest service to the world are one.

It's that thing where when you’re doing ‘that’, you know you’re where you’re meant to be.

When the energy of purpose pours through a person’s mind, eventually they’ll be able to formulate it into a mission statement, if they want.

When it flows through a person’s heart, it breaks it open and calls forth the love they are in service of the whole.

And when it flows through their body, it will radiate out as the natural pulse of living in alignment.

Today, there is a pressure building in the core of every human soul.

The global crisis we find ourselves in the belly of currently is demanding more and more human beings navigate the tension between finding out how on earth to stand as the love they truly are and totally collapsing.

This is the burning ground of initiation that vast numbers of souls are moving through right now.

And it’s deeply related to purpose.

None of us are individually responsible for saving the world.

But we are responsible for it together.

That responsibility asks each of us to accept whatever piece is ours to hold, tend to, be grown by, and serve.

If you’re being worked by the pressure to emerge as the love you truly are, so you can take responsibility for your piece of our collective breakthrough on the other side of this breakdown, consider working with me.
