The Personal Healing Journey and Leadership

If you feel a spark of soul purpose alive in you that wants to become a fire of soul-driven leadership,

And yet you find yourself oscillating,

Between feeling your light shine, where there seems to be a perfect synchronicity between the global initiation and the inevitability of your full soul emergence,

And being floored so hard by your own unintegrated stuff that you question everything, wonder whether you’re a total imposter, and basically struggle to tie your own shoelaces,

Don’t worry.

Even though a lot of people have the idea that surely they should be done by now with their personal healing journey if they are truly going to emerge into their soul-based leadership,

There's a deeper truth.

The soul purpose journey and the personal healing journey go hand in hand.

They activate each other.

It's the promise and vision of our soul emergence that has us willing to walk through the darkest valleys of our most broken places.

And, to truly emerge and lead from soul, we must first show up for the healing of our most painful, shame-filled parts.

The parts that if we were really honest, we would never look at or feel again if that was possible.

The thing is, the soul operates from love,

True soul-based leadership is the power that operates on a foundation of love,

And that’s not love.

When I’m caught up in rejecting parts of myself because I don’t like how they make me look (to myself or others), that’s not soul.

That’s ego.

An old teacher of mine once said to me, “Jon, so long as you make a difference between the love that you share with others and the love you give to yourself, you have not yet understood love”.

Of course she was right.

The genius thing the universe has done with how it’s designed the personal healing journey,

Is that in order for us to truly show up in the world and lead as the love that we are,

We must first get so serious, dedicated, pure and humble about that love,

That we let go of all our ideas of who we think we 'should' be,

And commit to love ourselves fully, for who we are now, without ever needing anything in our most broken places to change,

Forever.

Paradoxically, it is exactly that commitment that starts a process of healing, which frees us into leading from our soul in the world, sustainably.
